It is probably not a good idea unless you speak with your doctor prior to stopping it. Stopping the medication can make you feel very ill. If the side effects of the medication are bothering you, your doctor may be able to switch the drug or the dosage.

Thyroid leads to genetial problems if medication is not properly taken. Thyroid medication is to be continued life long so that thyroid is normal and also to avoid further problems.

I would advise one not to stop taking thyroid medication without the consent and knowledge of your doctor who is prescribing you the thyroid medication. Unless your doctor is the one advising you that you no longer need to take this medication. So go talk to your doctor first before you do anything.

Define okay. You can always stop taking any medication, but you would be best served to discuss it with your doctor first, explain why you want to stop, and discuss alternatives, before you quit.
