No, it isn't. You are either lifting to much, or you have a problem with a muscle, joint or ligament (depending on where the pain is). Drop the weight, rest or go see your doctor.
Pain, no matter what you are doing, is never "normal". Pain is your body telling you something is wrong. If you continue with the activity you could seriously hurt yourself.
If you do this hammer curls from a short time than yes,it's normal but if youa r doing them for a long time than you might have a problem.
For some odd reason, I always get a fierce pain when I start doing a hammer curl that does not go away.
