Is it inappropriate to donate underwear?

The answer may depend on _who_ is answering and _who_ is receiving the donation. I can imagine _very_ needy people that would rather have used, though clean, underwear than go without. I can also imagine the westerner that can't imagine being so needy and find the act inappropriate.

Unless undergarments are still sealed in their original packaging and have OBVIOUSLY never been opened or worn, it is absolutely inappropriate to donate them, anywhere, any time.

Used underwear would be inappropriate to donate since it would be unhygienic.

Yes, usually people donate clothes, quilts and books.People are not willing to wear others' underwear since it may have some bacteria and is not sanitary.

It is a part of clothes and so if we donate it to some needy person, it is always going to help. It is not inappropriate to donate underwear.

Maybe. I read that there's a problem with underwear in Kenya. New underwear is too expensive, and used underwear is banned by the government as being unhygienic, though there's still a black market for it because as some Kenyan woman say, used underwear is better than no underwear.

Yes it is inappropriate. Since underwear is such an intimate article of clothing, you should not donate it unless it is an unopened, unused pair. Otherwise it is best to throw them out if you no longer need them, rather than bringing them to a goodwill or other similar store.
