Having lived in Texas all of my life, I can attest to the fact that a 3 inch cockroach is not an unusual sight.

For the most part, Texas has no hard freeze that kills off a lot of bugs and other pests. As a result, cockroaches and other bugs can grow to be enormous in the fairly hot climate. The "Asian cockroach," looks like a giant waterbug.

No, that is a very large roach. The largest cockroach found in Texas is the American cockroach, a reddish-brown roach that is often over an inch long but three inches is very unusual.

That is significantly larger than the size of the average cockroach. But yes, there are large roaches that live in Texas.
