It is never ever ever ok to give an animal medication designed for people unless under the close supervision of a vet!!! I have seen some of the worst poisenings and burns in cases where an owner has tried to self medicate an animal at home. This turns out to be much more expensive then just seeing a vet.

Usually it is not adviceable to give any human medicines to pets. Before giving any medicine its better to consult a doctor. 320mg asprin would be a too high dose.

It really depends on what the problem is with the dog the best thing to do is call or go down to the local vet to check and see what is best for him or her. But I don't see anything wrong with giving a little first and see what happens.
