Question by  wonderwoman (1)

Is it against the law to inform a school of a coach who is an alcoholic and an accessory to a murder?

I don't want to get in trouble.

If you suspect that an individual has been involved in a crime, go to the police. In our society, people are loath to throw around the "alcoholic" label, so that's a non-issue. But involvement in a crime needs to be reported to the police. You can probably remain anonymous.

No it is not against the law. You will probably be doing the school a favor to inform them. But you need to make sure you have evidence and what you are saying is true.

You must be careful to avoid charges of slander. "Alcoholic" by definition is difficult to categorically determine for someone else. The claim of accessory to a felony is quite serious and should be directed to the police in your area. You can probably call a crime "tip" line or visit the police precinct to speak confidentially.
