Excessive coughing is not a symptom of HIV but could be a telltale sign. HIV attacks a body's immune system and makes it susceptible to many other illnesses. If a cough is excessive and insistent despite medication, a blood test is necessary.

Coughing is not, in and of itself, a symptom of HIV or AIDS. However, those who suffer from HIV or AIDS have weakened immune systems, and are more prone to catching colds and other illnesses which can cause coughing.

Coughing can be a symptom of HIV. However, coughing is also a symptom of innumerable other ailments. Coughing could mean you have a cold, allergies, the flu and many other illnesses. You should go to a doctor or clinic for an HIV test if you are concerned.

There are many ways to know whether you have HIV. A cough is not conclusive enough to determine whether you have the disease. The best way to know is to get a test to find out whether or not you have it.
