Catnip is neither bad nor good for dogs; in fact, they are, for the most part, completely uninterested in it.

No cat nip is not bad for your dog, though too much of it can be a bad thing and make your dog a little loopy. There wasevidence that some dogs are allergic to cat nip do this should be your only worry. Dogs actually tend to enjoy the scent so dont worry about it if your dog gets into it sometimes.

My dog was playing with my cats mouse filled with catnip, so I called the vet. The vet said the catnip would not harm my dog but that she should not consume large amounts of it as it could make her feel ill and vomit.

Cats are attracted to catnip because of the smell. Dogs do not seem to have the same reactions. Catnip is an herb related to mint, and is harmless if eaten.

Catnip is part of the mint family. Unless the dog that got into the is allergic to mint, the dog should not have any adverse side effects from the catnip.

Catnip is not unsafe for dogs. The only effect your dog may experience is throwing up. A good rule of thumb to remember is that anything a cat can safely have a dog will be okay with also.
