I prefer CarCheck it is more expensive but gives more details than Car Fax does in general. Car Fax I feel can be changed by the owner of the car and history can be erased in general.
Go with CarFax, they have been around and they work with more insurance companies. This allows them to get a more accurate picture of the car. CarCheck misses stuff.
