Is bamboo a good material for fencing?

All materials will degrade over time, how long depends on how each material is treated. Bamboo is a good material because it is good for the environment as a renewable resource. It can be treated with oudoor weather seals and stains just like regular wood panels can be. You have to retreat it, but you have to do that anyways.

We did buy bamboo fencing and had it up for about 5 years. We live in the snowy north and it didn't hold up well. It lost its color fast, dried out and cracked and didn't look pretty anymore. Check with your nursery and see whats best for your area.
