Question by  Brittany (22)

If a tendon in my biceps is sore, does that mean I have tendonitis in my shoulder?

How will I know if it's tendonitis or something else?

It just means that you overworked the bicep. Unless you also feel the same pain in your shoulder, then you probably do not have any shoulder ailment.

No that is not what it means. You can't fully know unless you go to the doctor and get a x ray done. It may mean that you just pulled your muscle. Wait a few days.

It is not very likely. A sore bicep is most often the result of strenuous activity or even normal everyday fatiuge.

No, if your biceps are sore it does not automatically mean you have tendonitis. You might have strained it only.Tendonitis will be painful even when you carry light objects whereas strained muscle would be painful when you carry heavy objects. treatments are the same though-rest and stretch

No, it could be you just strained it while playing tennis or working out. Tendonitis is a recurring problem, with swelling and pain. It doesn't go away.
