If a housing provider accepts the next months rent does it mean he has agreed to forgo the previous 30 day notice to terminate the tenancy?

I received a notice that my landlord was not going to continue my lease, yet he accepted payment four days later for the next months rent.

This largely depends upon the terms of your lease. If he accepted the money but has given you written notice that your lease is not continuing he must either let your remain in the property for the next month or refund your money.

You have a contradiction of the actions of your landlord vs. the notice given. You will need to clarify with him what that means first. Do this first before taking any other actions. Written notices stand over verbal. If he intends for you to stay, get it in writing.

Accepting rent does not negate the previous notice terminating the tenancy unless they are accepting money for rent beyond when the tenancy terminates. It is best to call your landlord and ask what their intention is and ask for that in writing if they are withdrawing their termination notice.

If they accept rent for that month, it means you have paid to stay that month. This means you get to stay for the 30 days but leave after that.
