I need a short phrase or way of telling people that I prefer cash gifts for my daughter's sweet sixteen. Suggestions?

There is no way you can make such a statement without looking like an inconsiderate person that is soliciting funds for her daughter's sixteenth birthday. If however, family or close friends ASK you what your daughter would like, you can certainly say " no gift is necessary, but if you insist, I know Susie Q is saving for college, etc."
