Something in your freezer is causing the bad smell. Defrost and clean out your freezer. You will probably find the source of odor by doing this. Throw out expired items. Wipe your freezer clean before putting things back in. In the future, place an opened box of baking soda in the freezer to absorb odor, changing it every few months.

Remove everything and wipe down the freezer with a solution of warm water and baking soda. Follow up with a mixture of bleach and water or an all-purpose cleaner—I have even used glass cleaner in a pinch. Then be sure to put an open box of baking soda in the freezer and replace it every three months.

Empty, defrost and wipe down with a solution of baking soda and water. Place several small pans of coffee beans in the freezer to absorb odors.
