By definition, a village is bigger than a hamlet, but smaller than a town. However, a village can be from several hundred to several thousand people, in Bavaria, or anywhere in the world. Bavarian villages are prized for the scenic locations in forest/mountainous regions, and unique culture.

Bavaria is a beautiful state in southern Germany, and a Bavarian village tries to replicate a small town there. It's a subdivision, or a resort or a hotel, and they are scenic and have an Old World look that residents or travelers may like.
