How sick do you feel with mono?

My brother says he did not feel bad and did not go to the doctor at first.

With mono I felt incredibly tired. My throat was so sore I couldn't swallow much, and my head was throbbing constantly. I was a little achy, but the things going on in my head distracted me from that. Just moving around the house made me very tired. I probably slept 18 hours a day or more.

Mono does not always make you feel excessively sick. You will, however, feel tired often because your body will be spending much of its energy fighting the sickness, even when you can't feel it.

Most people feel pretty sick. Mono makes you feel weak and makes you ache. You may also have a fever and sore throat. Generally mono will go away on it's own. Most mono victims are young children that aren't cautious about drinking after another person. If symptoms get really bad, see your doctor.

Depending upon the severity of the mono one can either feel slightly tired and have swollen galnds or the symptoms can be much more severe and the patient is unable to do little more than sleep and, with help get up to go to the bathroom. The degre of illness is dependent on the severity of the infection.
