driving

Question by  Verymoody (3)

How should you drive over a speed bump to best protect the vehicle?

Some people say come to a stop and roll over, others say no, drive as usual only at a very reduced speed.

You should slow down and roll over it so that the bottom of the car does not hit the ground on the other side of the bump.

You should reduce your speed, and if possible guide your vehicle so one wheel's on a flat area of the road instead of having both tires go over the bump.

Won't that mess up the suspension?  add a comment

You do not have to come to a complete stop to safely drive over a speed bump, but you should slow down to ALMOST a stop. And if you can, take it at a slight angle, especially in low cars; Just drive straight, and turn slightly before going over it.
