How should I treat a sore on my anole?

I've had him as a pet for a long time, but I'm not sure what to do about this or what caused it.

Where is the sore - is it on a part of your anole that is prone to injury. If this is the cause, simply cover it and keep it clean.

I don't want to scare anyone, but I do know that cancer can be the cause of a non-healing sore or ulcer. If it keeps growing get a vet to see it. The commonest cause is an infection and sometimes neosporin ain't enough - your anole may need oral medications/antibiotics.

Be very wary of an infection! An infection will have pus, look dirty and even may be painful. Use an antibiotic cream like neosporin few times a day. Make sure the water is clean as dirty contaminated water could make the infection worse.

Hi
Even if a sore is not an infection, it could get infected from the surrounding bacteria. So it's better to use the antibiotic cream on any sore just to prevent it from getting infected. How big is your anole sore?  add a comment
