You should preferably wait for about 3-5 months at least because if the puppies don't get the milk from their mother, they might not grow up healthy and the first few months are quite crucial.

A pup should be about 10-12 weeks old so that he or she is fully weaned and been house trained and the mother has had time to reprimand her or him for the play biting that they will do. She will let them know where they fall in their pack order.

All puppies no matter the breed should not be taken from there mother until there are weened. Usually this is about the 10 week mark.

A puppy must be weaned from its mother's milk before it can be purchased or adopted. At what age a puppy is weaned can vary greatly by breed and by owner. The average age range is between six and ten weeks, with eight weeks being the most commonly accepted answer.

They need to be at least 6 weeks old- the pups need to be weened off of milk from their mother. Never buy one less than 6 weeks old. It's not healthy for the pup and could cause major problems now or down the road! Make sure to ask if it has been fed from the mother or a bottle.

A puppy should be at least 8 wks old when you get buy it. For extra tiny puppies, it's sometimes better to wait until they are 12 wks old.
