Question by  g (18)

How much will it cost to replace a Mitsubishi timing belt?

I am trying to make sure the repair shop is not ripping me off, plus I would like to make sure I have enough to cover the charges.

Really there is no way for me to give you an exact amount. Especially not knowing just the make of the car. Call local shops to get several estimates.

The cost to replacing your timing belt could range between thirty and fourty dollars. If you buy direct it could cost you more.

The average cost to replace the timing belt is about $450 if you go to a mom and pop auto repair shop. a dealership will cost significantly more.

Costs will vary based on your Model, Year, engine size and if you have it done at a general repair shop or a dealer but, I would expect between $250-350.

There is no one exact price. It will depend on a lot of variables including the year, model, engine, and labor rates in your area. To make sure you are getting a fair price, call multiple quality shops and get quotes. Then you can compare these quotes to the original estimate.

To get an estimate for repairs you should contact several different shops in your area. Then compare the quotes to make sure you are paying too much.
