Each plant requires a different amount of water. You'll have to do a little research to find out if your plants like lots of water or little water. It will also depend on how much sun the plants are getting - is the soil very dry or staying moist in between waterings?

To know how much you should water your garden plants, you need to familiarize a little with every plant's need of water, as there are plants that need daily watering, like grace or cucumber. On the other hand, there are plants that love the sun and hate too much water and can even die from daily watering.

The ideal amount of water will vary by plant, soil conditions, amount of sun, and age. Twice a week for 10 seconds per plant is an average place to start.

I think the more natural rain water, the better. But once you start watering you need to do it everyday. On some plants twice a day.
