As with most abdominal surgery there is pain and about a two week recovery time, though full healing takes longer. Sitting up and coughing increase the pain.

Just like any surgery you will experience a lot of pain and you will be on pain medications. It may be a few weeks until you're back to normal.

You should experience some pain and tenderness and it will take you a while to get started again. Take things slow and take your meds and get some help.

Physicians have post-op information booklets; request one for details. Pain is usually well-managed with medication; you also experience reduced energy from anesthesia. Different procedures have different after-effects: ask your surgeon.

A hysterectomy is not too painful. If you have had a c-section, the pain is about the same. You will be sore for about a week. You will get pain medication to help with that. As long as you do not over do it, and you take it easy it should be a breeze.
