A Briggs and stratton 10hp doesnt take much oil. Its engineis very good it accepts only the needed oil and it does not take excess oil. It has a switch system which helps one from not in lack of oil

Between 25 to 35 oz. depending on the model some may take more. Start by adding 3/4 (aprox 25oz) of a bottle of small engine oil NOT 2 STROKE OIL!! Then check the oil level on the dipstick. Add more as needed.

I believe this model takes 1 quart of oil. Usually 10w-30 motor oil. Fill it slow and check the indicator as you fill it.

A 10hp Briggs & Stratton motor has an oil capacity of twenty six fluid ounces. It will not hold anymore oil than this.

1 and 1/2 quarts. 1/2 quart. Over filling will sometimes cause the engine to lockup. Also check to make sure enough oil is in the engine. It'll run without oil for awhile, but ends up causing your engine to freeze up.
