Radio personalities can make anywhere between $15,000 to well over $100,000 per year. The bigger the market, the bigger the paycheck.

A radio personality generally pulls down in the fifty thousands every year. This is just an average as some make a lot more and some make less.

It varies wildly. Some have to have additional jobs just to survive, while others are millionaires. Generally speaking, radio personalities that have a syndicated or national show make a lot more than those who just have local shows. Also, ones whose shows are broadcast during peak hours (usually the morning and afternoon rush hour) make more.

Being a radio disc jockey in a small market can be a very low-paid position. In fact, some personalities actually pay the stations to get on the air -- they do this to sell a product, or to gain an audience which they then use to sell their own advertising.

The amount earned by radio personalities varies wildly. Hosts of popular, nationally syndicated shows can earn millions. Local personalities, however, usually earn very little. Many radio personalities--both local and national--will supplement their incomes with books, tv appearances, and other activities.

Some national radio show hosts make many millions of dollars... some of them even tens of millions and a small handful can make many tens of million per year. These amounts represent a very tiny minority, however, and most radio personalities operating in local markets make significantly less.
