It applys to all pregnant women and can apply after 25 weeks. babies are for Sure Start Maternity grant have changed due, born or adopted on or after 11 April 2011. If there are no other children under 16 years in your family can only get a Sure Start Maternity Grant.For each baby You can get £500.savings won't affect grant.

The amount of the Maternity Grant is £500 and is paid into an account. According to the UK Parliament, this grant is only given for the first baby in a family since April 2011.
