When the GM Employee discount was started in 2005, the prices were about 4 - 5 % lower than the prices for which dealers were selling the vehicles. Hope that helps.

There were some complex numbers involved. Basically under the program you can get a car at the price at which GM gives it to the dealer. They compensated for this by giving the dealer about 5 % of each sale.

GM Employee Discount sales definitely turned around sales for GM. But I've seen a few calculations on the internet and found that if you buy vehicles at the end of year sales you save about 10%. ith the GM Discount this is about 13%.  add a comment

From what I have read - 3. 5% under the Invoice Price; 20% off options.  add a comment

There is no set amount or percentage for GM employee discounts; they are dependent upon the employee's position within the company and the particular item the discount is being applied to. The discount usually ranges from 10% to 25% depending upon these conditions, and is dictated by GM in advance.

I heard the scheme is gonna go off from Jan 2010. Read it on an internet GM forum. Not sure if it is a rumor or true!

The General Motors employee discount varies on the dealership and the car you want. You can get a bigger discount on a used car usually 20%

Once you become an employee of General Motors, they will let you know how much their discount is. Until you actually get a job with them, you can't.

GM has a Family First site (google it) where you can calculate the exact prize of any model under the Employees Discount scheme. That will sort out the problem for you.
