Adoption costs vary a great deal, anywhere from $5,000 to $40,000 for regional adoptions. Local adoptions usually have lower travel costs, but the costs for the birth mother, fulfilling the requirements of your state, and various services provided by the adoption agency can add up. Remember to plan parenting costs, such as baby furniture and clothing.

Adopting a baby can cost anywhere between $3,000 - $16,500. This covers everything from maternity care for the birth mother to legal expenses. Some of these fees are refundable and others may be written off on your taxes. There are also programs in place to help pay for the cost of adoption.

If you adopt within your local foster system, it's typically free or only requires minimal administrative type fees. When you're a foster parent you receive financial assistance to help you with daily costs and as an adoptive parents you may be eligible for government subsidies.

That can vary a lot. It depends if you want a baby, or an older child. Sometimes it can be free if you are willing to adopt a child in the system. If I were you I would contact a lawyer or a local agency for more information.

There are a lot of factors to the cost of a local adoption that vary from state to state. The required Home Study can cost anywhere from $2500-5000. There are also lawyer and/or agency fees depending on if you already know a birth mother or if you need to find one through an agency. Average for an infant is $25000.

It really all depends on your county/state laws, so I would check with your local government first. You can go to a search engine and look online, though.
