How much bacon can a dog eat?

Bacon can only be given as a treat, so it should make up less than 10% of your pets diet. Bacon is high in fat and salt, so only give it to your dog as a 'special treat', and make sure that your dog has plenty of fresh water available.

Give your dog no nitrite or nitrates in bacon, I give my dog Maverick bacon, no hormones or antibiotics or preservatives.  add a comment

An average dog can eat a lot of bacon. Most dogs really like bacon (and other pork products). You might run out of bacon before your dog runs out of appetite!

You can give your dog bacon as treats...I would suggest low-sodium and as a high value treat only. This way she doesn't get a whole lot and only for excellent behavior.

I do not think dogs should eat any bacon. Bacon is already not good for human consumption. It is filled with saturated fat and high in cholesterol. I would stick to dog treats especially made for dogs that you can buy at the pet store.

and sodium.

Try healthy, natural treats like fruit/carrots.

Beggin' Strips is made of horrible stuff. Google it.  add a comment

good job, nikkieng978! that's EXACTLY right. If you INSIST on giving your dog bacon, try Beggin' Strips, they supposedly are even better than the real thing.
