Between November 2006 and October 2008, the number of websites on the Internet nearly doubled. It is estmated that at the end of 2008, there were about 194 million websites on the Internet. Active domains number around 106 million. A domain may have multiple sites, which is why the total number of websites exceeds the number of registered domains.

There were 162 million websites in the world as of August 2008. Later updates show more than 231 million as of April 2009. That's a difference of 69 million in eight months (August 2008-April 2009).

My mother taught me not to believe what "everyone says. " The internet may be considered to be endless, since an unlimited number of websites could be placed there. I very much doubt that it would be possible to count all the websites on the internet, because they are being added and deleted constantly.
