A 16 year old should probably be able to do about thirty push-ups, give or take a few depending on their body type and sex.

It's variable... First between sexes. Next by fitness and after that genetics. I would caution against "should" but there are different "challenges" with widely different numbers.

Pushups are not connected with your age or growth. It is how much muscle power you have. Some can do 10. Some 100,depending on the nutrition.

A teenage boy should be able to do between 15 and 30 and a teenage girl should be able to do between 10 and 20 push-ups.

Well I'm a 14 year old girl and able to do 15 pushups. But I'm working hard to get higher. Compared to most people I know I'm pretty good for a girl! So whatever! Do I pass? lol!
