How long should I wait before calling a vet about a kitten with diarrhea?

I've tried several home remedies over the past few days. its been three days now, and am nervous about how long I should wait before calling a vet.

You have waited long enough. The kitten may die of dehydration if it is not rehydrated, so it is best to try to give water and call the vet as soon as possible.

Go ahead and call your vet now. Especially since the problem has been going on for three days. The kitten is most likely dehydrated and will require attention.

Call a vet now. It is important to stop this quickly. Dehydration is a serious problem and kittens are fragile. There are many causes for diarrhea in kittens. A vet is better equipped to diagnose the cause. Do not use over the counter medications without a vet's permission.

After about three days, you should probably take the kitten into the vet's office now. Brief bouts of diarrhea are common in young cats, and even in adult cats too. Hopefully, you've already gotten the cat his or her shots- bad diarrhea can be a sign of preventable diseases the shots prevent.
