Wow well I researched this and all the info I found I could not tell you in 50 words. You really should consult your dentist or orthodontist to find out more about root resorption and how long it would take in your particular case.

It depends on the severity of the problem. One dentist had a patient who had to wait 5 years to complete the work he was having done but that patient had a very severe problem to begin with. Best case scenario can be from just a few months or year.

Since researchers still cannot pinpoint what exactly causes root resorption it is almost impossible to give a definitive response. Perhaps once they can do that and also predict who is at risk there will be some statistical data available that would give you a consistent and firm answer.
