Anyone over the age of 18, you must wait at least 24 hours for a policeman to take a missing statement. The theory is that any adult has the right to leave at any time with or without someone else knowing it.

Usually, you need to wait at least 24 hours to file a missing person's report for anyone over 18. Police generally like to begin searching for missing children right away, however, since time is a crucual factor in such cases.
