How long can you store uncooked chicken in the fridge?

I forgot about it and it's been in there for a week.

It may be best to discard the chicken as it has been out for one week. You can check the expiration date if you think the chicken is still edible. However, in the future, if you are not going to use the chicken immediately you may want to freeze it.

You have to be very careful with raw chicken. If you want to be absolutely on the safe side, raw chicken should not be left in the fridge for more than 1 to 2 days. If you're going to be storing it for longer than that, put it in the freezer.

You should throw that chicken out. The USDA recommends keeping raw chicken in the refrigerator for only 1-2 days. Refrigerators with compartments that can store foods at 40 degrees allow chicken to keep for 2-4 days. When in doubt, conduct a sniff test: if it smells bad, it is bad.

I think that you can store uncooked chicken in the fridge for about 2 to 3 days depending on the best if used by on the chicken itself. I would not store it any longer than that, than it will go bad.
