Birkenstock shoes have been around since 1774 in Germany. You probably saw a photo of Albert Einstein wearing sandals, but Karl Birkenstock's sandals did not introduce the popular Birkenstock sandals until 1964-1967. Albert Einstein died in 1955, so the sandals he was wearing were probably not Birkenstock's. Sandals date back 10,000 years.

Birkenstocks have been around since 1897 and come in many colors and styles. Because of the date these shoes were made, there is a very good chance that you saw Einstein pictured in Birkenstocks. They are a very comfortable, high quality shoe, and became popular quickly. Choosing Birkenstocks was just another sign of Einstein's genius!

Birkenstock has been popular since 1980's. The makers of this sandal was inspired by shoemakers in 1770's and adapted its comfort because of its flexibility and good arch support. Therefore, Einsten was not around anymore when the sandal was been sold to public.

Birkenstock as a shoemaker has been around since 1774. Birkenstock curvy footbeds were invented in 1897. Originally, the arch supporting footbeds were put into other shoes. The quintessential Birkenstock sandal wasn't made until 1964 when the first Birkenstock sandal was created. Birkenstocks are by far the most comfortable shoe in the world.
