The United States government has been accredited to international organizations by signing into the organization and becoming an official member. They participate in the happenings of the many different organizations and do their best to help whatever cause the organization is promoting.

The United States is credited to an international organization simply by joining the organization. By doing this, the U.S. pledges to help the organization and do what it can to further its cause. If you ask me, the U.S. should stop spending money elsewhere, and fix its own economy.

Often the President will appoint an Ambassador to an international organization. This individual is given diplomatic papers which they present to the organization. Once accepted the government is accredited.

By founding international organizations like United Nations Security Council. By economic clout, as in large control of IMF policy. By military clout, commanding hand in NATO. Also cultural clout.

In the United States, the Presidential election is certified by the Electoral College. Questions of eligibility or voting practices (such as fraud in the 2000 election) are taken up by the Supreme Court. No international body certifies the United States government as legitimate because it has never requested external parties help ensure fair elections.

Perhaps the best known international organization that the united states is accredited with would be the United Nations. This involves cash among other things (like blood). For example in September of 2005 the cost to the USA was 607 million for regular budget and 607 million for peacekeeping.
