The main difference between the two George Forman Grills is the size of the cooking surface area. In the newest version, there is a larger cooking area of 120 sq. inches. According to reviewers, that should accommodate about 4-6 average sized burgers. All in all, everything else, in terms of quality, remains the same.

The George Foreman Next Generation has a better desgin than the older ones. You can remove the plates for cleaning and storage is easier.

I think George Foreman Next Generation is better because it has non stick plates which provide ease and as well as these are removable.
