It is not hard at all to fish for mackerel. The easiest way to do it is by trolling, use a lure called a clark spoon with a leader of 20 lb test that is 20 ft long, connected to a barrel swivel. Casting "gotcha" plugs also works well when casting from a pier or shore.

Usally it's not too difficult, but all anglers know that there are no fixed rules with fish ! Main methods are float fishing using a bait of eels or squid, or you can try spinning using a metallic lure, or feathers - which nowadays are made of brightly coloured plastic
