How does an engine choke work?

Starting a cold engine normally can prove problematic as the gasoline evaporates slowly at lower tempatures. To resolve this, many engine manufacturers implement a 'choking' system. This system 'chokes' the air intake increasing the fuel to air ratio which in turn increases the amount of evaporated fuel in the carburetor allowing the engine to start more easily.

The choke is what allows for more or less regulation on the amount of fuel and oil that is released into the combustion chamber. It works via the gas pedal.

The choke restricts the amount of air that enters the carbs by closing a valve. This increases the amount of fuel to air making it easier to start the motor.

the engine choke makes the hole on the carb where the air enters smaller. This causes more gas to get into the engine with less turns.

If you are wanting to use this engine choke then you will have to pump it before it does work
