How does a green living room with red as the secondary color and white trim sound?

That's what I thinking in terms of wall color. The furniture is neutral.

Too much green and red can make a room feel very "Christmas-y." If you really want to use green and red, stay away from the bold colors you might see on a holiday card and instead choose more muted, sophisticated colors, such as a pale green or a rich red.

I would not make red your secondary color. Whenever I think of red and green, I think of the holidays and Christmas. I fear that once you got it all put together, it would look too much like a seasonally decorated room, and not an everyday sort of living space.

I believe this combination of colour is very bold, and it can be somewhat tacky if it looks too much like Christmas. If you choose to work with pale colours, chances are you get better results.

It sounds too christmasy at first...but when you picture it in your mind's eye it could be quite nice. The walls should be a rich shade of green. The red would be a nice compliment to the green if it comes halfay up the wall with some crown moulding. White borders on crown moulding will tie it together.

Using green, red, and white in your living room is asking friends and family to make Christmas room jokes. These colors are great for a room if you are one of Santa's elves but otherwise it is a decorating don't.

It's cool if the colors are not too vivid.
