How does a dentist go about detecting dead teeth?

My daughter fell from a tire swing recently flat on her face and smashed her front teeth. They were loose and a little bloody. The dentist basically told us to let them be. They would tell us if they were dead by chaging color to gray.

Your Dentist will first ask if you have any teeth bothering you. Then the dentist typically takes x-rays of the mouth. Followed by a cleaning and inspection of the inteiroir of your mouth.

The dentist examines the teeth with a light and sprays the teeth which shows any holes and decay which will tell him if you need a filling. An x-ray will show any roots which have decayed, then the dentist will be able to correct the problem.
