How do you wash clothes?

I know it sounds like a silly question but I have never washed clothes before.

Sort the clothes into light and dark colored clothes. Do one load (either light or dark) at a time. Put clothes in the washing machine. Add a little detergent, like Tide or All. Turn on the washing machine. When the wash cycle is done, dry the clothes, either in a dryer or by hanging them to dry.

Well basically just follow the direction provide with your washing machine. The clothes will say how to wash them and the detergent will give measurements for each load.

Sort clothes into at least darks (blacks, reds, blues, ect) and lights (whites, colors that are more likely to absorb color than release it). Measure laundry detergent according to package directions and place in washer. Add clothes. For dark colors, use cold water. For lights, use warm/hot water. Start washer.

First start by separating your laundry. Put all the dark clothes in a pile, all the white in a pile and everything in between in a pile. You should have three piles. Wash the whites in hot water, the darks in cold water and the middle pile in warm water.

You separate darks from whites. After that you take the clothes and put them in the washer. Next add the laundry detergent, oxi-clean, baking soda etc. After that you turn the washer on and let it run. I always do my laundry in cold water because my clothes seem to last longer. Then I put some stuff in the dryer.
