How do you trim a mimosa?

I need to trim a mimosa.

Cut out the dead, dying, or diseased wood, or any wood that is crossing or rubbing on other braches, usually taking out the largest branch. Trim the rest as desired, but trim no more than 1/3 of the tree. Trim at least yearly or as needed.

Mimosas need to be trimmed regularly and should only be done during its growth phase. They do not like to be handled very much so use sharp implements and a light touch.

The tree will do well if you remove dead branches and clear out baby trees that develop from seed pods.

Avoid timming /pruningyour mimosa in it's first year of growth. After the first year just trim back no more than 25 of the branchs (avoid trimming to the bark)
