There are many over the counter medications that will heal a wart when applied. It will take several days. Or, the doctor may want to "freeze" or "burn" the wart. After medication treatment, keep the wart covered and clean. Follow directions on the wart removal package and if you have any doubts about treatment see the doctor.

Some people say keeping duct tape over it for a few days and then lightly rubbing it off with an emery board will work. To me the best way is to go to the drug store and find some Dr. Scholls Clear Away wart remover, the same company also makes another wart remover worth trying called Freeze Away.

You will want to use wart removal pads instead of chemicals. The kids can contaminate their food if you use chemicals. Do not cut or remove the wart with a blade.

You can take him to the doctor and have the warts removed with liquid nitrogen. This can be painful. If the child is old enough to keep his hands out of his mouth (or not pull off a band-aid) you can paint on a pain-free over the counter wart remover.

There are lots of creams and even bandaids that you can get and just put it on there and it should be gone within a week. The bandaids would probably be best for a child so that they dont rub it off or tamper with it in some way causing it not to be useful.
