Itching (sometimes so bad it is completely out of control), Rash, Tingling, or Burning are best treated/managed by avoiding wearing the item that caused it, Prednisone, and antihistamines are some ideas. It is also important to determine whether the symptoms you are experiencing are from Neoprene, and not symptoms of something else.

Neoprene allergy can be treated with Benedryl, steroids (such as prednisone) and hydrocortisone cream for a rash. But remember, Benedryl will cause drowsiness.

Besides avoiding it, take an anti-histamine. If you have a rash, don't use anti-itch cream; let it heal by itself. If using wetsuits made of neoprene, get one that has a layer between it and your skin. Vaseline can be a layer between your skin and neoprene bandages or braces.

You will have to find out from your health care provider to make sure you have a neoprene allergen. The best way to treat this type of allergen, is to avoid it at all cost.
