Firstly, be sure to identify that the fish has anchor worms. They are usually seen as small, green, hairlike protrusions on a fish. Also, Anchor worms tend to bring in bacterial infections. Your local fish store should have a suitable cure for each, and while you are there, be sure to buy a frozen food to stimulate the fishes appetite.

It sounds awful, but removing the worms is the best. You can do this by hand or tweezers. Also there are some dips that you can buy at pet stores.

The first thing is to separate the infected fish from the other fish. and then put some potassium permanganate (5Mg) to the container which has the infected fish

25% Water change is must before treatment. Activated carbon from the filter should be removed. Treat every 6 days up to 3 weeks. Use always manufactures recommended dosage. 1 teaspoon for every 40 gallons is the correct dosage. Wait for 14 days to see anchor worms completely gone, if still found repeat the dosage again.
