You can use a laboratory such as Lancaster to test your water. There is a fee but they provide the kit for free.

The best way to test for total coliform bacteria is to take a water sample to a local laboratory for testing. Check with your local health department for names.

You need to hire a certified laboratory to do it. There should be a list with your state department of environmental protection. Call some labs from the yellow pages and ask if they are certified.

coliform bacteria are generated from toilet water or waste water. Your drinking water is tasted a abnormal. A taste difference is occurred. Secondly a colour difference is to a pale yellow on a bright white colour. These are the tests of preliminary and a better test is laboratory test. It will confirm it.
