Purchase a carburetor sync kit. This kit cost around $100 dollars and will provide you with what you need to synchronize your carburetors. You local dealer should carry one.

As with any repair that requires skill, if you consider yourself a novice I would suggest either first consulting your car manual, or talking to your local car mechanic. For a job like this make sure you have the tools you need: Sockets, Allen Wrenches, and matching parts of same-brand.

Synchronize carburetors on a Yamaha Road star by using their jets. There would be two jets in the carburetors. One would be bigger than the another. You need a screw driver to perform this work. Just start your bike and use the screwdriver to loosen or tighten the jets.

You need to get a carb sync guage set. Then on each carborator there will be a vac line coming from it. attache the sync to these. one carb will not be adjustable, so adjust the rest to the specs of this one. I recommend you get a service manual for this job.
