This generally only works with an older model. You locate the solenoid on the top of the engine compartment usually right along the drivers side top. Then you take a screwdriver and cross it over the two screws that are diagonal from each other.Turn key.

Have the ignition key turned on. Then use a long, unpainted screwdriver. Place the screwdriver across the metal points on the solenoid which creates a bridge for the electricity.

Pop the hood and locate the starter solenoid. It's typically on the fender well of the vehicle near the battery. Get out the screwdriver and touch the metal end to the post that leads to the starter. Drop the other end of the screwdriver down, touching the metal and it should start.

You can pop the hood and kill the engine, by placing a piece of metal, typically a key, on the metal relay that holds the solenoid in place it will cause the engine to spark and start.

There is no way to start a car solely by using the solenoid. The solenoid is only a small part of the ignition system that recieves and directs the electricity from the battery when the key is turned. If by some chance you are able to start the car, the engine will soon die
