You need at least one table, one (better two) decks of cards, chips (at least 500 better 1000). You need to establish how often the blind levels will increase, what increments blinds will increase. You need at least 5 people and a set of rules!

The essentials to any poker tournament are have a long table with appropriate amount of chairs, have enough chips for everyone, and have at least 2 decks of cards. Make sure everyone agrees on the rules before starting. Don't have more than 9 people at a single table.
